Children Who Reached 100%
Since I began contributing toward treatment for SMA children in Fall 2022, these children have raised 100% of required funds. Many children beyond the ones listed below have made it, but these are children to whom Pluto has donated. I hope the list underscores how your own contribution can make a difference and how genuine these fundraising campaigns were and are.
Note: Last names have been removed to protect the privacy of the children as they continue with their lives. Likewise, the parents or guardians involved often provide post-treatment updates to celebrate and keep donors informed, but they also tend to delete the bulk of social-media posts that publicized their child's life. This is done for the sake of the child.
In many cases, the families also eventually hand off their social-media accounts (and followers) to another child with SMA so the accounts can be repurposed to help others.
Maksim G.
Reached 100% on February 27, 2023. Maksim was 3 years old at the time. He is undergoing physical therapy while applying to change his treatment plan to Zolgensma. In particular, he needs to regain weight lost due to pneumonia.​
Safa P.
Reached 100% on January 23, 2023. He was almost 10 months old. He received Zolgensma in late February 2023. His family continues to provide updates on post-Zolgensma rehabilitation, which is going well.​
GöktuÄŸ A.
Reached 100% on January 10, 2023. He was a little over 2 years old. Unfortunately, when doctors accessed him for treatment, they determined that Zolgensma would threaten his life due to the state of his immune system. The child died three months later, and funds are awaiting reallocation.​
Irmak Y.
Reached 100% on February 12, 2023. She was 5 years old and only several hundred grams shy of being ineligible for treatment. She received Zolgensma in May 2023.​
Raman A.
Reached 100% on March 3, 2023. He was born December 3, 2020. He traveled to Dubai for treatment in late May 2023.
Marianna M.
Reached 100% on February 10, 2023. She had been fundraising for 2 years, but had only reached 40% and was near the weight limit for treatment when Sonia K. (another SMA child from Ukraine) donated all remaining funds.
Sonia K.
Reached 100% on November 25, 2022. She received Zolgensma in February 2023, after relocating to the area of treatment in Germany. Because health insurance in Germany agreed to cover costs, her funds were redistributed to help others, the priority being other Ukrainian children.
Yasmin S.
Reached 100% on April 26, 2023. Yasmin was 1.5 years old at the time and was born in Adana, Turkey. She and her family reached Dubai for assessment and treatment on May 18, 2023.
Yusuf Eren G.
Reached 100% on April 14, 2023. Yusuf was born in January 2022, in NevÅŸehir, Turkey, and was diagnosed with SMA at just 56 days old. He and his family flew to Dubai in May, where Yusuf is awaiting blood-work results for the Zolgensma order.
Aybars K.
Reached 100% on May 17, 2023. His family is making arrangements for travel and treatment in the United States.
